One of the culture shock values I found working here in the Philippines was the dichotomous attitude that exists here against such perversions exploited on a website such as this.
I am currently based in a strongly roman catholic country, which upholds moral conduct belief systems to the point of what I see as repression and almost dangerous oppression. Yet, openly, just as in the west we are overcoming our issues about openness regarding homosexual practices, here, I am entertained to see ‘gayness’ is as acceptable and a wholesomely colourful part of their society. ..Now, begs the question, how do the Philippines respond to my perversion of sexuality, and downright fetish?
Well, when I arrived here I was with full tow of chastity belts in my baggage, cutting down on my overage in baggage by literally emptying bags and donning some of my leather gear at flight check in. My weighty fetish baggage had exploded upon disembarkation, and it’s various saucy contents spilled on the collection point pick up carousel. Unaware of the potential hazard I was apparently in I was very lucky to have been asked ‘Hello Madam, Are you Vivianne Westwood?’ upon passing through bagcheck. With humour, and layered in heavy leather dress. Other production designers had suffered the unlucky fate of having their personal Jackrabbit super dildos confiscated and narrowly avoiding prosecution for national laws on holding items considered pornographic in nature.
Somehow, I got through… with all my Latex sets of clothing intact, un-confiscated. I never questioned the cultural standings on all these issues of sexuality, yet it was my main job to be the costume designer on a fetish scene of a mainstream feature film. I therefore thought any cultural issues were taken care of, and that I was not in any position of risk.
I was introduced to the compound (a security protected studio complex) as Lady Onna, the name stuck regardless of my IMDB name. Strangely befitting of what I represent. It was clear from production meetings that the artistic license to do a fetish nun scene would be considered offensive to their religion [and law] and place the studio in bad standing. So, I wondered what the repercussions would be to produce such an evocative scene of deviant sexuality at the studios. However, all was open arms..
And it seems, they like chastity, punishment, and safer than sex latex. So Lady Onna is quite welcome here. and here are the output ravings from the studio itself to prove my point.

I’ve been away for a while peeps – costuming a film with the BDSM undertones required for one scene. While involved in production my hours are long, laborious. We are physically making the stuff to dress the models, right down to the leatherette gloves. Not all the models will be able to wear latex gloves due to the amount of time being in them, will cause to some extent almost lacerations on the inside arm. I will explain that point on another note.
For now I am talking about the efforts required for the production to pull together one scene of a feature film. I was working at a pretty big studio set up. Most fetish films for latex porn are a low level set up – shot mostly in a day, due to the constraints of shooting models for long periods of time in latex. I had a set of daily strips to focus on that cumulated into one scene, over the course of a one week shooting schedule. Each Strip consisted of a list of shots in which as costume designer I had to make special considerations to anything shown on a tight frame.
In particular details like gloves where attended to, with specifics probably unnatainable easily on a shop bought basis due to details like buckles, lacing etc. We had a budget to fit the entire costuming to. I made special effort for unusual demonic silhoettes with inflateable horns. All of these made for the film, and lead in team work by myself under the direction of the production designer.

I was happy to be known throughout the film studios under my Alias Name of Lady Onna, rather than my IMDB name. It was rather pleasant, and also befitting I suppose with the nature of the work. I realise now looking back at this video that I am sitting there in the wardrobe room, with clothing pegs on my tits. Getting into the theme of things heh.
Anyway the difference between a feature production, with a BDSM insert scene, is the ability to spend on the production value to get the authentic look. We spent weeks in production actually sourcing and making the stuff, right up to the last hour, with new models on the slate adding to the background artistes and requiring fittings. Then in pricipal photography, the long hours and looking after wardrobe responsibilities continued into long hours until after the day’s wrap with further cleaning of the garments.
A lower budget fetish movie produced just for the satisfaction of fetish alone can not entertain the finance and process of making for weeks, then fitting out, wrangling models for days on end. To some extent you have to admire the ingenuity to produce such fetish movies within a days shoot. Costumes have to be begged, borrowed, and credited where not paid for. All to stick within marketeable costs.
