Wow I had a surprise! I went clubbing to a seemingly standard nightlife club in London… And HAD to take pictures, as before my eyes RUBBER has become a commonly natural fashion mixed in with highstreet. It was a really nice refreshing change to see rubber mixing with the mainstream, as opposed to only being seen in the discrete world of fetish clubs mixed with some sordid sight I wouldn’t have the permission to share with you.

No fear to dress up Latex Catsuit style – on a normal club night! This is not a fetish event! Am I seeing a reassurance of cultural acceptability of dress up? Is this specific to Camden in London Only?
I will be trying to find out if there are other clubs further afield with a similar level of dress up commitment to what is normally regarded as fetish wear. But the London Camdenites have firmly made a mark in accepting alternative fashion, as a challenge to artistically out dress each other. This seems to go without making some sexual statement that is normally expected at a fetish club. What is important to realize is that it is not being treated as a fetish, merely a uniform or statement of fashion.
There were also fellas a plenty also dressed up, sorry to disappoint by presenting only pictures of the ladies, but they were a lot more colorful! I’m saving my thoughts on the lads for another article, maybe to present some fashion ideas for dressing up since I am always asked so many times.
What is important to remember – is that fetish over the years follows trends and changes slowly over time, according to whatever is available or enticed us in our development. The youth culture of today will probably have fetishes, but maybe not in the same disguise of the rubber mackintoshes of times before. Fetish has refined in such a way just like fashion, that to separate generations maybe almost incomprehensible to each other. This is something I have to find out…
