Then of course there’s the endless accesories, either for dress up, or simply sex play. One can never have enough of these toys and gags and belts and lashes. I add up that each outfit probably has cost me in the region of £500 to put together, complete with accesories. Thats about $800 dollars US. And, I have to admit – that is shopping frugally and carefully with an intuitive sense of matching and style or innovation. Just because I make my own latex, doesn’t mean I don’t buy the stuff. Quite often you will need to find a hood to match, or gloves, or fuck me boots that the retailer simply doesn’t sell. So patience, keeping an eye out, searching and never being to shy in asking is the order in building such a collection.
I believe people who also have been building such collections over the years are therefore with great asset behind them to produce these movies for us. As it is sometimes so expensive to kit one person out alone, that to do a whole scene really means someone has invested over a long period of collecting. I find the best buys are quite often directly from these people’s collections, the little odds and hoods, belts and things that are often excluded from the main shops but you often find you will get the most wear out of.
Sadly I have lost a lot of my collections over the years. Now some will come to fail naturally as latex does perish. But mostly my collections are susceptable to the people I have let into my life. A jealous and pathetic ex- of mine once took my whole collection and destroyed it, probably about £1000 worth from my university days. I have suffered the same loss again! This time housemates absconding with my collections for their own use from my rubber panties, to nighties, and another housemate taking ownership of various gowns I have made while I was out of the country.
These peices are unique and I hope whoever else gets to own them one day in the future will at least love them as much as I did. AND give me the credit for having the talent, time, and love go into making them. It would be nice to know that someone is at least proud to say – yes this dress was made by Onna, despite the origin of it being lifted by some theiving disloyal cunt of a housemate. (He once thought of himself as a maid, hence the irony in my accusation).
Anyway, as a result of loosing much of my latex collection I thought I would announce some accessories I am willing to clear from my excess flight baggage. Latex always looks so cool It’s almost a rule when I go out. But there are consequances; after hours of prancing and dancing around in thick layers with extreme corsets on, I am guaranteed to have sweat my load into every crevice of my suit. The moment I step back outside to return home after a night out – I FEEL COLD AND WET!! and the longer the time it takes to get home, the more rancid and irritable I might feel.
The first thing I do when I get back is take a dive in the bath tub WITH all my latex gear ON. That way I get it off easier and everything gets washed all at the same time. Because I am quite lazy it’s better to kill two birds with one stone but never ever neglect care of latex.
Never will I go back to the days of learning minger where my latex was hastily taken off and shoved in a sweaty ball under the bed until I could be bothered to deal with it. YUK. It’s a job getting into it, and a job getting out, but do the bath thing and at least you are looking after your latex.
I have to seperate my fun with latex from pleasure. If I am dressing up to go out, it’s a challenge to ignore the sensation of wearing it, but I have to tune out of it or else I will rapidly find it uncomfortable. So sadly, NO I get no personal pleasure at all now from wearing latex – out in public. To me it’s as normal as any other day, with the added task that it is a challenge and often an encumbrance is to showcase oneself. LOOKING GOOD KILLS. So I live with it. Latex looks good, but out and about, it is never 100% comfortable, and often a physical challenge: Just like High heels, Killer corsets, Headache Hairdos, or Makeup that wants to make your skin melt away…
Now, If I am dressing for personal pleasure, thats a different story. I like well fitted things, preferably moulded actually, as the time I would spend in it I would then end up with seam creases embedded in my skin. I like the thin latex, but then have a craving for more tightness, restriction and difficulty in the heavy rubber. So, I rather like to spend my time say 2 hours, slowly getting more layers on, and this time enjoying the sensations.
It is not at all similar to going out in latex. I have learned now from many occasion, that although I can enjoy the sensation of latex, it becomes a chore to do so in public, without at a whim the use of a bathroom. Dreading the return journey and how tiredness rapidly affects your comfort levels past the ‘sweat buckets’ point. Contrary to what people think, you dont sweat from heat or it being hot in rubber- you sweat from exersion and discomfort. And once sweaty, it stays in contact slurping over your skin. Not enjoyable for me if I am thinking about getting home. Only enjoyable if I really want to sit down and watch that latex porn, or play around in the bedroom.

Nothing like these little venues, I know the internet is killing them off, but there’s nothing quite like buying off the shelf, trying things on. If I am on the hunt for pervery shopping, it takes me over – I end up in true extreme shopping style. (This is what happened to me the last two occasions I went shopping at these UK fetish market events)
The one thing in common about everywhere I go, is that you cannot find latex porn – anywhere. It is a common thread of dissapointment in my own shopping trips for pervery. You used to be able to find these sort of videos at the fetish markets I would seek out, but quite often due to the confusion on importation laws and such, most videos on latex porn were poor quality, and such a limited mix it was taking chance with pot luck.
I recently came back from LA, and perused the sex shops there for my niche interests, It was a hard hunting job. I made the effort yes, but in the end found one sex shop boutique, selling a DVD for something like $50, It didn’t really please me for the money and the effort searching.

Sadly, I do resign the fact that I will never see such video material in these UK markets anymore. Sometimes to find them is a real gem, but now I regard these shopping markets in a different light. Although abundant in the UK and London, they are poorly supported due to availability on the internet. The traders are mostly artists of some form who sexualised their interest niche. They come and go and rarely last because niches are a limited capacity, there are few people around to support them. As a visitor you cannot beat trying stuff on and testing it out. These events are hardly hardcore haunts with sexuality shoved in your face, they are more like hunting venues for props, fetish finds and costumes. Their nature being so individually varied means you are unlikely to find anything parrallel in quality or diversity in one place or on the high street. At the end of the day anything so personally attributed and dextrously handmade, is NOT something you can find on the high street. In fact magazines like Vogue have often plundered these little market haunts, and recently so to kit up Lady Gaga for a shoot, as one happy trader put to me.
That doesn’t mean prices are fashionista high, although they deserve to be for the artisan efforts, big buyers are few and far between, most have to be competitive over and above their dextrous efforts which is sad. I was one of them, but I gave up trying to make a living off latex to the public, I would have to work more hours than in a day to make a living out of the efforts I out in.
